Before retiring in 2017, Maggi spent 18 years, employed by a secondary school to aid primary schools to encourage enthusiasm for learning and to raise children’s aspirations. This mostly involved creative approaches to achieve results.  Prior to that she was a certified insurance underwriter and office manager of a national life and pensions office. Her original chosen career path was originally commercial catering after qualifying in that field but the knowledge gained was eventually utilised when she taught Food Tech at a secondary school in Rugby.  She was previously a governor at Brooke School, culminating in becoming Chair and she played an instrumental part in the academisation of the school and the development of Unity MAT.
